A note to readers: now that our lead writer has stepped out from the comfortable shadow of obscurity, we’ll be switching over to first-person pronouns. We’ll see how that goes.
In the vast sea of excellent Canadian food blogs, there are three that we I make sure to visit on a regular basis:
- Gremolata bills itself as a food and website “about the people who make, serve and eat food and wine.” Its food features are educational and inspiring (see asparagus) and its how-to articles deliver on the how-to promise (check out August 2006’s Grill A Fish with CRFA Director Donna Dooher) but it’s really the in-depth interviews with rising and established culinary stars that keeps me coming back for seconds, thirds and fourths.
- This month’s Gremolata mentions another favourite: Dana McCauley. Blogging since January, Dana posts new recipes and cooking and entertaining tips nearly every day, so there’s always something new to read and learn. Her most recent post, Cheeseburger Tips for Dad is perfectly timed for Father’s Day and includes a recipe for a gourmet brie burger from her new book, Dana’s Top Ten Table.
- One of the reasons I like Food Network Canada’s Food for Thought blog so much is because it has an active readership that makes great comments/contributions. And lead blogger Catherine Jheon has an uncanny knack for asking those questions we all all wonder about, like, “What foods do you avoid because of their weird texture?“

Thanks for the mention! I’ll pop in here again soon so that I can learn more about your blog. Looks fun so far!
